The answer
HSV Disciform Endotheliitis Keratitis
- Characterised by a stromal haze and oedema with potential Wessely rings
- Differential diagnosis against Acanthamoeba
- Damage to endothelial pumps mean there will be greater oedema, leading to pain.
- Will have anterior chamber reactions due to involvement of endothelium.
- Prevalent in recurrent HSV attacks, and is usually less severe than other HSV induced endotheliitis
