Patient presents to your clinic again just after he had staphylococcus aureus bacterial keratitis.

It seems like their keratitis had settled, yet now they present with new ulcers. Evident from the image, rather than central or paracentral it is now peripheral.

Describe the symptoms?

- Photophobia, tearing, irritation

- VA not greatly affected

- Is bilateral

You send your patient off without treatment.

They recovers in 1-2 weeks time.

answer

Marginal Keratitis

- 3 lesions present at the 5-7 o'clock region

- The lesions are fairly parallel with the limbus

- There is a gap between the limbus and lesion

- Localised hyperemia at the 4-8 o'clock conjunctiva

- May be due to hypersensitivity of s.aureus or second to blepharitis
